arnica can help with recovery after oral surgery

Arnica is a homeopathic remedy derived from the plant Arnica Montana, and has been used for its medicinal purposes since the 1500s and is still quite popular today.

Arnica is available in many forms such as a gel, ointment or dissolvable tablets that are placed under your tongue.

Studies have shown that taking Arnica can drastically reduce the extent of inflammation, bruising, swelling and pain that may be typically associated with surgery.

With regards to oral surgery, it is best to apply the gel or ointment formulations, to the skin of your cheeks between two to three times daily for one week after surgery. Avoid prolonged application as this may irritate your skin. Consult your physician or a pharmacist if you have very sensitive skin, as you may benefit from other formulations.
